Marks in construction questions are lost to blunt pencils and skipped arcs, not weak maths. Two rules for homework: a sharp pencil, and never erase construction arcs (they ARE the marks — examiners look for them). Also: this chapter is genuinely fun. Tiling designs make great fridge art.

Quick questions parents ask
Why do examiners insist on compass arcs being visible?
The arcs are the proof that the figure was constructed, not drawn by eye or measured. No arcs = no method = lost marks, even when the final triangle is perfect. Train the habit now and it pays through Class 10.
What do tilings have to do with real maths?
Everything — whether shapes tile comes down to angle sums around a point (360°). It’s the same angle arithmetic from earlier chapters, now producing floor designs, honeycombs and Islamic art. It’s also a favourite Olympiad topic.
